The
Horse-Human Connection: Focus on PLAY & SEEKING
What can horses teach people
about emotions? How do horses function as “living
bio-feedback” to facilitate humans to move from
merely surviving, to truly thriving? In this
workshop you’ll learn how Equine-Facilitated
Psychotherapy & Learning – EFP/L—changes the brain,
helping people rebuild their neural networks for
emotion. Gentle, progressive exercises with horses
assist people to identify the early stages of
“Blue-ribbon emotions”- brain circuits for FEAR,
PANIC, RAGE and also for PLAY, SEEKING, and CARE.
Horses show people that through awareness they have
a great deal of choice about which emotions they
experience and cultivate. Enjoy more time in PLAY
and SEEKING.
Note: This workshop approaches EFP/L from both a cognitive and an experiential
level. Participants will learn about EFP/L and
how it works; they will also experience EFL to
find out that it works. This workshop is
best for professionals and others who are interested
in finding out more about EFP/L and who might be
interested in incorporating horse work into their
own profession in some way.

Finding
Freedom: HEAL Personal Growth Intensive
Heal your past and find new ways
of thriving! Like faulty computer programs,
unresolved history tends to repeat itself with
unconscious responses and defenses to other humans.
This is where a horse comes in. These large,
inscrutable partners command our respect, yet we can
absolutely trust their honesty and non-judgment.
Horses help us connect to the natural joy of being
that is our birthright. They can help us learn
how to create safe, authentic and appreciative
relationships within the human circle as well. This
2-day intensive provides an experiential immersion
in the practice of higher consciousness using the
tools of positive psychology. Horses respond
reliably to the clarity of our intentions, to
compassion and most remarkably to our emotional
self-awareness.
Note: In the personal growth
intensive Leigh will coach and guide people in an
immersion experience with their equine partners.
There will be very little cognitive teaching about
EFP/L; the course will be essentially 100%
experiential. This allows participants to go deep,
working in safety and trust toward emotionally
corrective experiences with the horses. This course
is best for those seeking an opening and healing
process in personal change and growth.
